Teaching concept
The teaching of the Chair of Process Control Systems Engineering enables students to conceive, design and implement (partially) autonomous and interactive process control systems for dynamic systems. The students know the requirements for automation systems (especially process control systems), can select components and architectures in such a way that safety and reliability are guaranteed and estimate the effort for configuration and parameterisation.
These basic competences can be developed in three pillars. The aim of the first pillar, "Project planning of automation systems", is that students master essential methods for information modelling and algorithms for automation of automation. The second pillar, "Human-Machine Systems Engineering", enables students to ask exciting questions about the design of the human-machine interface and to find solutions in a structured, targeted and high-quality manner. The courses offered in the third pillar, "Process Operation", impart skills in the design and implementation of model-based process control stratgies.

Teaching of the Process Systems Engineering Group
The chair of Process Control Systems Engieering cooperates closely and partly in personnel union with the Process Systems Engineering Group. This group represents the people that define the requirement for automation and, in practice, are becoming ever more closely networked in terms of information technology and work processes due to the digital transformation. Information about the courses offered can be found on the page Teaching of the Process Systems Engineering Group..
