UserStory
The motivation for the research in the P2O Lab can be vividly described by means of a UserStory. Based on the described events, the future of "Process-to-Order" and the resulting need for research will be described.
Karl has developed a recipe for algae lemonade at home. On the P2O Lab website he uses the REZEPTOR 3000 to send a request for production possibilities. For this he gives the necessary information about
ingredients, quantity and steps, as well as the desired quality.
Petra checks the orders for production with the P2O Modulator 4X+s. This names required modules, gives an associated schedule and lists required raw and auxiliary materials.
The recipe is tried out on a small-scale pilot plant or in a simulation environment and the result is discussed with Karl.
Petra is now deciding the feasibility of the plan given current plant utilization and planned production.
She now agrees on process details such as the necessary retooling of a machine and other offer conditions with Karl. Who accepts the offer.
After the filter module arrives the next day, laboratory manager Lutz puts the modules in the required order and connects all the necessary connections.
The new interconnection is propagated directly to POL.
Operator Otto ramps up production and produces with the modular plant.
He monitors the production, which is one of many, directly in the field using an AR application, while performing other parallel activities.
