Corona Information
From 6th of April till 4th of May all offers at CGV are purely online. This is realized as follows
lectures
- course passwords are used to control access to slides, video streams and video conferences and are published inside of the Opal courses after student registration. By registering to the course students consent that they do not give course passwords to anyone else.
- slides are provided in pdf format as usual on the course webpage
- lectures are recorded with audio plus anonymized [1] capture of speaker and presented as video stream, with a link on the course webpage. By registering to the course students consent that they use the lecture videos only for the course and that they do not give the videos and neither the access information to anyone else. Re-publishing the videos is strictly prohibited.
- video conference based question and answer sessions will be held at the end of each regular lecture slot. Connection information is provided on the course webpage. To respect the privacy [1] of the students, the Q&A sessions are not recorded. By registering to the course students consent that they do not record video conference sessions.
Exercises
- Exercise briefings are recorded as a narrated presentation and will be provided via video stream, with the link being announced in OPAL at the day of release. Again, by registering to the course students consent that they use the briefing videos only for the course and that they do not give the videos and neither the access information to anyone else. Re-publishing the videos is strictly prohibited.
- video conference based question and answer sessions will be held within the regular exercise slot (at the end of 1st DS at 8:40am for CG2, at the beginning of 6th DS 4:40pm (16:40) for SciVis) to answer any questions you might have after viewing the briefing. Connection information is provided in the OPAL course. To respect the privacy of the students, the Q&A sessions are not recorded. Again, by registering to the course, students consent that they do not record video conference sessions.
Footnotes
[1] The main reason for anonymization of speaker videos and not recording of video conference sessions is the ease to generate fake news videos with the latest visual computing technique published last year: Fried, Ohad, et al. "Text-based editing of talking-head video." ACM Transactions on Graphics (TOG) 38.4 (2019): 1-14.
