23.06.2024 - 28.06.2024; Workshop
GMI-AIMS-3
Alexander Männel will present ongoing research about a better understanding of network telescopes at GMI-AIMS-3 organized by CAIDA. The results are part of his master's thesis.
The Chair of Distributed and Networked Systems at TU Dresden closely collaborates with CAIDA since several years. Founded in 1997, the Center for Applied Internet Data Analysis (CAIDA) is an internationally renowned research institute investigating practical and theoretical aspects of the Internet. CAIDA conducts network research and builds research infrastructure to support large-scale data collection, curation, and data distribution to the scientific research community. CAIDA is based at the San Diego Supercomputer Center, located on the UC San Diego campus in La Jolla, CA.
The goal of the GMI project (Designing a Global Measurement Infrastructure to Improve Internet Security, or GMI3S) is to design a new generation of measurement infrastructure for the Internet, which will support collection, curation, archiving, and expanded sharing of data needed to advance critical scientific research on the security, stability, and resilience of Internet infrastructure.
The purpose of this third workshop is to review Year 3 GMI3S progress and discuss the different measurement infrastructures in place moving onto the Implementation phase of the project next year.
