- ZIH initial registration
- Registration in the OPAL education portal
- Transferthe academic year to your calendar (re-registration, exam registration...)
- Familiarize yourself with the study regulations, study schedule and course catalog, which can be found in SINS(Study Information System) and on the faculties' websites
- Install free software such as Microsoft Office on Campussachsen.de
- Instructions SELMA (change personal data, certificates,...)
- Familiarize yourself with the timetable and register for courses via OPAL
Financing your studies
- Apply for BAföG at the Studentenwerk Dresden or find out about other financing options
- If there is still time left: Part-time job e.g. SHK positions at the university (Student Assistants)
On campus
- Organizea campus card: upload a photo online https://campuscard.tu-dresden.de/, includes a canteen card and a library card from the SLUB (Saxon State, Regional and University Library) in the Central Library or in the DrePunct Library SLUB
- After registering at the library (SLUB), book an appointment for an introductory course at the start of your studies.
- Get a copy card (StuRa Baracke or SLUB)
- Log in to the campus WLAN eduroam and VPN. You can find instructions here.
- Perinorm instructions (view and download technical standards free of charge)
ESE
- Find out about the first semester events (ESE week) for your own degree program and take part in many events to get to know your fellow students
- MANDATORY: Attendthe welcome event on the Friday of ESE week
- Attendthe matriculation ceremony
- Register for the ESE trip at the FSR office, ZEU/221
- arrange to meet up for the semester kick-off parties :)
