Topics for interdisciplinary projects, major assignments, and theses can be arranged after personal consultation with the director or the designated contacts. There are always interesting, practice-oriented projects available from regional and national industry or from research institutions! See also the official bulletin board in the Zeuner Building (next to Room 331) or the website.

Use of AI such as ChatGPT
Regarding the use of AI such as ChatGPT and similar tools, the rules set forth in the German Research Foundation’s (DFG) statement from September 2023 apply. The original text is available here:

In particular, please note the following section:
"In scientific publications, only the natural persons acting in a responsible capacity may be listed as authors. They must ensure that the use of generative models does not infringe on third-party intellectual property and does not result in scientific misconduct, such as plagiarism."
This means that currently published, freely available applications, such as ChatGPT, cannot be used in an academic context, since the user (that’s you!) has no control over or knowledge of the underlying datasets. You cannot know or influence whether third-party intellectual property is being infringed.
