Additive manufacturing of functional and effective light-use-cases
The overall project goal of A-MELIUS is to improve additively manufactured aerospace components. This is done by improving the manufacturing and testing of AM parts, as well as developing laser-based technologies to influence the surface topography and chemistry of titanium and aluminium alloys. The aim is to improve corrosion resistance and reduce fatigue. Further on, new properties such as ice-repellent or aerodynamically flow-optimised surfaces are to be generated. At the end of the project, full-size demonstrators will be manufactured and analysed in terms of surface and durability properties.
