Studies at the Chair of Laser-based Manufacturing
The Chair of Laser-based Manufacturing offers several modules and lessons dealing with laser technology topics in both summer and winter semmesters. It also offers international workshops together with other universities as well as summer schools.
Further information about the specific lessons as well as links (OPAL platform) can be found here.
Studies at the chair
Imparting knowledge to students at the TU Dresden on fundamental and applied science is a key point at the chair. For instance, In winter semester we offer the lecture "Laser Precision Processing" and during the summer semester the lesson "Photonic Measurement Technology" and "Laser and plasma technology". In addition, the summer school "Trends and new developments in laser technology" is organized at the chair with the strong support of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology (IWS), since 2012. Also, different international workshops, such as "Laser microprocessing and funcitonalization of surfaces" are also given.
Besides lectures and seminars, we offer students to complete research works as well as final theses at our chair. Furthermore, students beyond the field of mechanical engineering are also welcomed to finish their bachelor, master or diploma theses. The approach of the topic is either performed at the TU Dresden or the Fraunhofer IWS.
