Review of the 56th Power Plant Technology Colloquium 2024
The 56th Power Plant Technology Colloquium (KWTK) took place this year on 8 and 9 October at the International Congress Center Dresden. The conference, consisting of a plenary session, two panel discussions, 92 specialist lectures by top-class Advisors and a fully booked company exhibition with 102 exhibitors, offered participants from industry, politics and research a comprehensive platform for exchanging information on current developments and innovations in power plant technology and energy supply. This year, we registered 810 participants in person and 20 participants online via the Zummit platform.

Instead of one panel discussion, two panel discussions were held in 2024: "Between Canada and Kuwait: What energy partnerships does Europe need?" and "Between recession and a glimmer of hope: How can Germany become innovative again?" The first discussion looked at international cooperation for sustainable energy supply, while the second focused on strategies to strengthen innovation in Germany. Both emphasized the importance of cooperation between business, science and politics in order to master key challenges.
A detailed conference report will soon be available in the vgbe Journal.
