National Network KOREA
The national network "Republic of Korea" connects the TU Dresden with the leading research institutions in South Korea. The cooperation characterizes a long-standing research and development collaboration in the fields of:
- Development of Carbon Fibers
- Additive Manufacturing
- Material Models
- Metal Composite Structures
- Lightweight Design
- Calculation and validation methods
... and led to a number of joint publications and events. In addition, the Korean-German study as well as research mobility or the general exchange between students, scientists and teaching staff is to be expanded in the framework of the partnership.
Among the most important partners of this network of the Institute of Lightweight Engineering and Polymer Technology (ILK) of the TU Dresden are:
- Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), Changwon
- Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) Jeonbuk, Jeonju
- Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), Jeonju
Further partnerships are welcome to the ILK and are actively being established.
TU Dresden awards selected decentralized partnerships, networks and programs for particularly outstanding internationalization activities with the so-called "Lighthouses". The awarded activities are honored for bringing TU Dresden one step further on the way to a global university. In September 2021, the International Affairs Commission of the TU Dresden announced 22 shining examples of internationalization, the partnership with the Republic of Korea as a Lighthouse National Network among them. | Continue to Lighthouse Country Network "Republic of Korea". | Download.
