Consortium meeting with project sponsor participation at Kamenz airfield

On 22 May 2025, a consortium meeting was carried out with the project sponsor at the airfield in Kamenz as part of the Air-Take-Off project. A technical exchange about the project results to this point took place as part of keynote speeches. A subsequent highlight was the inspection of the hardware acquired as part of the project, in particular the conceptual drone mount and the extensive cockpit conversion of our Cessna 172, as well as the mobile drones and base station.
Demonstration of drone assembly on the TU Dresden research aircraft
A ground station and corresponding trackers were used to demonstrate the communication capability between the drones set up and the Cessna. On the one hand, the drones were visible on the Cessna's traffic display, but on the other hand, the Cessna was also visible in the control displays for drone control, so that nothing stands in the way of demonstrating this communication capability in flight.
