Currently many vehicles exploring the surfaces of space bodies are equipped with nuclear batteries posing a safety risk and significantly increasing costs for surface exploration missions. Therefore we want to test different solar cell types to gather information about their characteristic behaviours under near space conditions and identify models that can be used to power future exploration vehicles via power transmission satellites from orbit.
