To ensure that everyone is safe on campus and knows who to contact in case of an emergency, TU Dresden and SLUB published the #SichererCampus campaign to provide information on help and contact persons in various situations.

#1 First Aid

Sudden illnesses or accidents can occur anytime and anywhere - and TU Dresden is no exception.  All buildings of TU Dresden are equipped with first-aid kits - the locations are marked with a white cross on a green background.
What to do in a medical emergency:

🔹 Remain calm
🔹 Check for danger (to keep yourself safe)
🔹 Call out to the person and check if they are breathing
🔹 Call out for help and (ask someone to) call 112
🔹 In the event of respiratory arrest, immediately begin chest compressions (and mouth-to-mouth resuscitation) - continue until the ambulance arrives
Many buildings are also equipped with defibrillators that can guide you through the steps with clear voice instructions in order to resuscitate the person in distress.

#2 Genderbased Violance

The UniSAFE Europe-wide survey on gender-based violence in academia shed light on the following fact last November: Two thirds of the survey participants experienced gender-based violence in their institution. However, only thirteen percent of those affected actually reported this to the appropriate authorities. This is partly because they didn’t know who to turn to.⁣

If you experience or witness sexualized violence at TU Dresden, please contact the Gender Equality Commissioner appointed at your faculty. You can also report these incidents anonymously via the new digital Compliance Management System and receive advice in such situations.

#3 Loss of items

Have you lost something on campus or even stumbled across a lost item yourself? 🎒 You can hand in any lost property to the facility caretakers. Alternatively, you can also hand lost items in to the citizens' offices, town halls, or to Dresden’s lost and found office on Theaterstraße.

If you find a student ID, please return it to the ServiceCenterStudies (SCS) in the Fritz Foerster Building.

If you have had something stolen, you should contact the police directly and inform the Directorate Facility Management ().

#4 Antidiscrimination

For appreciation and respect!  TU Dresden condemns all forms of harassment and discrimination. We expressly encourage you to come forward if you experience or witness such an incident. Affected persons and their relatives may contact the Complaints Office (anonymously, if they prefer) for advice on how to best handle the situation.

#5 Wertschätzende Aushänge

Should you see any hostile or malicious posters or stickers on campus, please let us know by sending an email to: . We will work with the facility manager to ensure that these are removed promptly.⁣
Has something been damaged or defaced in one of the university buildings or on campus? Then please get in touch with Directorate 4 Facility Management or TUD's Security Service. They will decide whether the vandalism also needs to be reported to the police.⁣

#6 Accessibility

Diversity and inclusion: TU Dresden grows through the diversity of all its members and is committed to the idea of inclusion. This also includes the equal participation of people with disabilities and chronic illnesses through the barrier-free design of the campus and our online services. ‍

#7 No smoke without fire?

🧯 TU Dresden is one of only a few German universities that has its own Fire Brigade. Of course, their primary goal is to prevent fires from the outset. They are supported by Fire Safety Officers and Assistants, who ensure that all precautionary measures are observed in the university's buildings. But if you do notice a fire, please inform the Fire Brigade and TU Dresden's Security Service immediately. 🚒⁣
