The School of Engineering Sciences
Successful teaching and research, renowned professors and highly motivated young academics characterize the School of Engineering Sciences at the TU Dresden. With research specialties such as energy storage, industry 4.0, robotics or computational materials science, the engineering sciences are one of the most important strategic building blocks in the range of academic offerings at this university of excellence. Its multidisciplinary orientation is one of the School’s greatest strengths. It includes the following faculties:
- Electrical and Computer Engineering
- Computer Science
- Mechanical Science and Engineering
Of all German cities, Dresden has the highest density of research institutes. Academics and students in engineering sciences profit from unique opportunities for cooperation with external research establishments such as the Fraunhofer Institutes, Helmoholtz Centers, the Leibniz and Max Planck Institutes, as well as with regional industries. A concrete example of this special network is the DRESDEN concept, connecting the TU Dresden with strong partners from the sciences and culture.
