About the Alliance
DRESDEN-concept e.V. stands for Dresden Research and Education Synergies for the Development of Excellence and Novelty. The Alliance was established in 2010 as a research alliance of the TUD together with the strong partnership of the research and culture areas resulting in the ideal way to communicate the excellence of research in Dresden.
The tasks and aims of the partner institutions continue to differ in each individual case. Therefore the partners within DRESDEN-concept remain independent from each other in institutional aspects. This guarantees that each individual partner retains their particular strengths. In this regard, the philosophy of DRESDEN-concept differs from other projects, which expect advantages from the merger of research institutions with different aims. In contrast, the DRESDEN-concept partners are convinced that the actual strengths of a research campus lie in the diversity of their institutions, if the greatest possible synergies are allowed and clear conditions for collaboration are set.
DRESDEN-concept is a part of the Excellence Initiative Program and an element of the concept of the "Synergetic University". Its superior aim: making the university attractive to the best students, staff and academics from all over the world.
