About the Office
The Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections of TU Dresden is responsible for the preservation of 40 collections from the fields of science, technology and art. With a variety of activities, it preserves these valuable historical cultural assets and makes them accessible to researchers and the public.

Collecting - Preserving - Questioning
Founded in 1979, the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections at TU Dresden is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in Germany. With its central position within the university's structure, it exercises a supervisory function over the university's cultural monuments, including more than 40 scientific and technical collections and an extensive art collection.
The central task of the Office for Academic Heritage, Scientific and Art Collections is to preserve this important resource while making it both visible and accessible for collection-related research, teaching and scientific communication. The supports the collection managers in recording and digitizing the collections via a central collections database and in preserving the collections, it organizes exhibitions and offers educational formats, connects with colleagues and institutions during academic events, initiates research projects and publishes on collections and university history.
