International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
November 25 has been declared the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" by the United Nations. TU Dresden also wants to use the day to draw attention to gender-based violence and has planned several events on the topic of violence against women as part of the TUD Responsibility Weeks around this special date. Special program items this year include an assertiveness course for physically disabled women, as they are more likely to experience this form of violence. After a film discussion with director Seong-Moon Lily Shim, women who are threatened or affected by anti-East Asian racism will have the opportunity to come together in a "Bravespace" and talk about their experiences. Staff and students can reflect on their dealings with sexualized violence in workshops, as it were, and make strategies for action visible. We would like to draw particular attention to the lecture "Violence in medicine - doesn't exist?!" (in German) by A. Röhle and T. Bauer on November 14 at 5.30 pm. The entire program for the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women" can be found here.
