Research Connect
Furthermore the TU Dresden provides free access to the RESEARCH CONNECT database for its scientists and staff members. Using this database, you can filter, out of various funding programs, relevant calls to the field of medicine and also search for a specific funding source. Please follow the 'Login with your institution' and enter 'Technische Universität Dresden'. Here you can find a short introduction on: How to get started with RESEARCH connect.
ELFI
The TU Dresden provides its researchers with the right to use the search tool of the Service Center for Electronic Research Funding Information (ELFI). The new version of the database (ELFI 2.0) represents a comprehensive search tool for various funding opportunities.
Access is possible within the TUD network without additional registration.

The support of young scientists and the training of excellent scientists is a special concern of the Medical Faculty Dresden. All participating programs are bundled and interlinked under the roof of the Dresden School of Clinical Science (DSCS).
This creates optimal conditions for young scientists at all career stages. In addition, various funding opportunities for young scientists are available at the Medical Faculty: The Carus Doctoral College of the Faculty of Medicine at TU Dresden offers a clearly structured supervision and quality assurance concept for the completion of dissertations. Project funds can be applied for within the framework of a MeDDrive project. MeDDrive funding offers young researchers the opportunity to work more intensively on a scientific issue of their own choice for the first time. With the habilitation support for women, female scientists are supported on their way to habilitation. Additional funds are available through the P.R.I.S.-Program to enable and support conference travel and publications by outstanding young scientists.
Since the beginning of 2022, TUD's new research information system (FIS) has been available to all academically active members and staff of TU Dresden as a single point of information for key figures on research performance and activities.
It is a new instrument for the visibility of our university and is anchored in the future concept "TUD 2028 - Synergy and beyond" as a central element for research reporting internally and externally. In order to use the research information in the FIS for reporting purposes, the data must be quality-assured and complete. In the notification of the Vice-Rector Research, Prof. Rösen-Wolff, it is pointed out that all members of the TU Dresden who are active in research are therefore obliged to enter all research information, including transfers, in the FIS and to keep it up-to-date.
In order to familiarize you with the functionalities of the FIS, the various processing steps and the associated opportunities and possibilities, the FIS team offers various virtual compact training courses especially for the Faculty of Medicine. In addition to the general FIS manual, you will find further assistance for recording scientific achievements (e. g. publications) here. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the FIS Support or the Department of Science Support and International Collaborations of the Faculty of Medicine.
Every year, the track record of the Faculty of Medicine of the TU Dresden informs on the activities of the institutions, clinics and facilities in the fields of research, third party funding and teaching. The research data entered into FIS will be used to create the report. A brochure can be downloaded as a pdf-file retroactive since 2003.
Further information on research-supporting structures on our Medical Campus (e.g. Coordination Center for Clinical Studies, Biobank Dresden, Core Facilities, Trustee Office, Ethics Committee, Ombudspersons, etc.) can be found under the heading Supporting Structures.
Documents on the subject of science support are available in our ZIH-protected internal section Documents and Forms.
