Das ZMI-Team auf der dhealth: Maria Zerlik, Katharina Schuler, Jakob Thiel (v.l.n.r.)
Presentation of strong research work at Schönbrunn Palace
The Center for Medical Informatics (ZMI) was represented with several scientific contributions at this year's dHealth 2025 conference in Vienna on 6 and 7 May. Under the slogan „Informatics Health meets Digital Health“, the conference brought together national and international experts from research, healthcare and industry to discuss current developments and challenges in the field of digital health.
The ZMI team presented three publications with different thematic focuses
The ZMI sent a three-person team of our scientific staff to the Austrian capital and presented three publications focussing on the following topics:
Maria Zerlik (CDS2USE - MII Junior Research Group (NWG)):
„Application of Micro Design Patterns in Co-Design Workshops Using PROM Visualisations as an Example“
Author(s): Maria Zerlik, Ian-C. Jung, Katharina Schuler, Caroline Glathe, Martin Sedlmayr, Brita Sedlmayr (2025)
💡The article examines how micro-design patterns can support the joint development of visualisations for Patient-Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) in co-design workshops.

Katharina Schuler, Jakob Thiel (v.l.n.r.)
Katharina Schuler (CDS2USE - MII-NWG):
„Requirements for an Instrument to Identify Context Factors for Enhancing Context Sensitivity in CDSS“
Author(s): Katharina Schuler, Ian-C. Jung, Maria Zerlik, Martin Sedlmayr, Brita Sedlmayr (2025)
💡This article focuses on the collection of user-centred requirements for a tool for the systematic recording of context factors in the development of context-sensitive clinical decision support systems CDSS.
Jakob Thiel (MIHubX):
„Standardising Heat-Related Diagnoses for Predictive Modeling in Healthcare“
Author(s): Jakob Thiel, Martin Sedlmayr, Elisa Henke (2025)
💡The aim of this work is to standardise heat-related diagnoses to improve predictive models and resource planning in healthcare in the face of increasing climatic stress.
In addition to the scientific discourse, the conference offered our young researchers a valuable platform for interdisciplinary exchange and networking - especially in the German-Austrian region.
