New funding attracted: "Clonality of hematopoietic reconstitution"

Dr. Ingmar Glauche (IMB, TU Dresden) and Dr. Kerstin Cornils (Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf) received a grant approval from the DFG for a project entitled “Modeling the reconstitution dynamics of hematopoiesis after stem cell transplantation using neutral multicolor barcode marking for high-resolution cell tracking”. Within the project, the scientists will investigate clonal contribution of different hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell populations to short-term and long-term engraftment in mice after cell transplantation. To do so they will make use of a highly sensitive, multicolor barcode approach for simultaneous clonal tracking and a mathematical model description to interpret the generated data.
