Joint research project: Recycling of CO2 as carbon component by using mostly regenerative energy
Duration: October 2010 - September 2013
The research focus within the project is the development and testing of (high temperature) stable catalysts for the dry reforming of methane with carbon dioxide to produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide (syngas). Further investigations are made in the field of catalyst development and testing for the catalytic methane oxidation. Especially the long term and temperature stability as well as a low ignition temperature is of interest. The methane oxidation can be used as deliverer of heat for endothermic processes (e.g. dry reforming).
