Atomically Precise Single-Layer 2D Conjugated Polymer Frameworks Studied by LT-STM
The project will aim to the controlled on-surface synthesis of 2D conjugated polymer frameworks (CPFs), in particular donor-acceptor-based 2D structures, and their structural and electronic property characterization with high spatial resolution scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and spectroscopy (STS) at low temperature. Besides that, unique chemical reactions such as homocoupling of thioketones or bimolecular Knoevenagel condensation will be investigated to develop 2D polymerization beyond the traditional methods, leading to extended 2D CPFs.
