How can people who suffered abuse and maltreatment in childhood come to terms with what they have experienced? A nationwide psychotherapy study is to contribute to new insights.
People who experienced physical or sexual violence as a child suffer from the consequences - often for the rest of their lives. They often develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The ENHANCE study aims to gain new insights into how those affected can best be supported in coming to terms with their traumatic experiences in the context of outpatient psychotherapy. Participants are currently still being sought in Dresden, Mainz, Giessen and Ulm.
