In some places in Germany, it has already been available since 2019 - the new mobile communications standard 5G. In the course of its establishment, some repeatedly claim that 5G would pose a risk to health. The latest episode of the "Gute Frage" therefore looks at what 5G actually is, how it will make our lives easier in the future, and what lies behind the fear of the new mobile communications standard.

These questions will be answered by Prof. Frank Fitzek from the CeTI - Cluster of Excellence, who is researching fields of application for 5G, and Faizan Qureshi from the Vodafone Chair, who will explain which types of electromagnetic radiation are hazardous to health. Anxiety psychologist Prof. Jürgen Hoyer and communications scientist Lisa Weidmüller also talk about the cause of fear of new technologies and possible solutions.

In the "Gute Frage" video format, scientific questions are answered by experts from Technische Universität Dresden from different perspectives. Videos of the new formats are published every Wednesday on the YouTube channels TU Dresden entdecken and TU Dresden probieren.
