AAA conference series
This webpage was valid only until 2012. The actual homepage of the AAA-series has moved to Linz (Austria). Please follow the link to AAA at http://www.algebra.uni-linz.ac.at/AAASeries/
The AAA is a workshop in the field of general algebra, taking place twice a year usually at universities in Germany and Austria, now also in other countries of the European Union. The meetings are organized by local colleagues.
The traditional AAA was founded in 1970 by Rudolf Wille, Darmstadt, Germany. Since then, twice a year researchers meet to exchange their views and results in algebra and related topics. The general coordination stayed with Rudolf Wille until 1995, when after 50 conferences he passed it on to Reinhard Pöschel and Bernhard Ganter, Dresden. From 2013 the series is coordinated by Erhard Aichinger, Linz, Austria.
It was intended to merge this conference series with similar activities in East Germany such as the "Arbeitstagung Algebra und Grenzgebiete" (organized by Hans-Jürgen Hoehnke), in particular with the "Tagung junger Algebraiker" (Conference of Young Algebraists / CYA ) that is regularly held at Potsdam University (organized by Klaus Denecke). The special emphasis of this conference is that young researchers, in particular undergraduate and graduate students, are encouraged to participate and to contribute. Regularly, a broader introduction into an area of current interest is given by an experienced researcher. The first conference of this continuated series was held in February 1996 in Potsdam.
We are looking forward seeing you at the next conferences.
