Repeating an Exam for the Second Time
- Clarify organizational matters: When, where and with whom will the exam take place?
- Time management: Identify and reduce "time sinks", take into account rest and time buffers, create a realistic study plan
- Information on previous exams: Work on old exams from the FSR and sample exams
- Use consultations to obtain important information about the exams and get to know the examiners better
- Step by step in intervals: Divide learning material into small learning units and study regularly
- Extend learning techniques: e.g. using workshop offers
- Form study groups: support each other, discuss what you have learned, simulate exam situation
- Make use of services for exam anxiety (e.g. OPTA, Psycho-social Counseling of the Studentenwerk)
- Take advantage of the professional advice offered by the Central Student Information and Counseling Service: The student counselors will support you, for example, with know-how on time management, study organization and helpful learning strategies.
- Use the StuRa's counselling services and information on the third attempt and exam inspection

The following counseling and assistance offers will help you to prepare for your exams properly and find the best path to graduation.
All students of TU Dresden can make use of these services. They are free of charge.
Student Counseling and Information
An offer of the Central Student Information and Counseling Service for students with questions, doubts, challenges and problems. In a personal conversation you will develop individual solutions for your situation together with a student counselor. The consultation is free of charge, confidential and anonymous if desired.
Academic Advising
Individual counseling by an academic advisor on subject-specific or organisational questions relating to your degree program.
Career Guidance
An offer of the Career Service for professional orientation. You will be supported in the development of professional options as well as their implementation and informed about the regional and national job market as well as training and further education opportunities.
- Psycho-social Counseling
Counseling for personal problems and crises such as work difficulties, examination anxiety, lack of self-esteem, problems in the social environment, addiction problems and depressive moods -

Independent and objective advice in case of social or financial problems during student life -

This offer of the Writing Center and the Central Student Information and Counseling Service helps you to prepare long-term for exams, to make progress with a seminar paper or term paper and to keep on track with your studies. You can launch a Learning and Writing Group any time at the Lern- und Schreibgruppen-Börse.

An individual counselling by trained writing peer tutors of the Writing Center on your current writing project (e.g. seminar paper).
Learning Space for Mathematics

Online-Program against Test Anxiety (OPTA)
In this training you get to know about the characteristics of your fears by a self-test, you get information about speech and test anxiety and learn in different modules to cope with your fears. We provide you with infotexts, exercises, tips and case examples, demonstrated in short videos.
