Registration of residence is possible in all citizens' registration offices
Be smart about registering and re-registering your place of residence: Take advantage of all of Dresden's citizens' offices and book an appointment online before your visit.
With the start of the winter semester, thousands of new students will begin their studies in Dresden. Everyone who has moved to Dresden for the first time or to another apartment within the city must register the new place of residence within two weeks in accordance with § 17 para. 1 of the Federal Registration Act (Bundesmeldegesetz, BMG).
In order to avoid congestion at the popular citizens' offices in Altstadt and Plauen, students are encouraged to use all available citizens' offices in the city. Please check the online calendars of all citizens' offices as soon as possible and book and book an appointment online, as soon as your moving date is set.
If there are no more available appointments, you can also visit the citizens' offices in Altstadt, Blasewitz, Cotta, Klotzsche, Leuben, Neustadt, Plauen and Prohlis on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. You will need to be patient as the waiting time may be longer.
Please bring the following documents with you to the appointment:
- pre-filled registration form
- Tenancy confirmation (Document issued by landlord for registration purposes)
- Identification document
