Our study-related offers give you the opportunity to add valuable perspectives to your studies and develop your personal interests in a targeted manner. The courses range from pedagogical professionalization and dealing with social challenges to practice-oriented knowledge on patents and innovations, language teaching in the context of multilingualism and the development of intercultural and global skills.
Offer in the area of society
The TUD offers prospective teachers an accompanying course for dealing with anti-Semitism in a school context. The training includes an examination of Jewish life in Germany and pedagogical approaches that enable non-discriminatory educational work.
Brief description
The program imparts knowledge about Jewish life in Germany, raises awareness of modern manifestations of antisemitism and demonstrates pedagogical approaches for antisemitism-free educational processes. After successfully completing the program, participants receive a certificate proving their qualification for prevention work in schools.
Target group
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science at TU Dresden offers the program to students of all teacher training courses at TU Dresden, regardless of the type of school chosen, from the 2nd semester onwards.
If capacity is available, TUD students can be admitted to participate in individual courses of the accompanying study program. Students of the TUD who are not enrolled in a teacher training program can also be admitted to the accompanying studies if capacity is available.

Procedure
- Duration: 3 semesters (always starts in the summer semester)
- Scope: 15 CP (of which 10 CPs can be regularly credited in the teacher training programs (usually in the supplementary studies)).

Offer in the field of law
A practical certificate program in the field of law provides basic knowledge of copyright law, in particular patent law. The continuing education program illustrates the relevance of intellectual property for research, innovation and start-up projects and lays a solid foundation for practical application in the professional environment.
Brief description
The program focuses in particular on innovation projects from research and start-ups. It combines face-to-face and online events, lectures, workshops and international cooperation, e.g. with the European Patent Office, and concludes with a certificate.
Target group
The program is aimed at all associate members of TU Dresden - students, employees and professors - regardless of their status or field of study. English language skills are required for selected modules.

Fees: Participation in the IP|Express certificate program is free of charge for associate members of TU Dresden.
Procedure
The program consists of two modules: Fundamentals of IP Protection - Introduction to Patents, Trademark and Design Law for Non-Lawyers and Specialization - IP|Express Talks and Workshops on topics such as R&D Agreements, Employee Inventions and Patent Searches.

Language courses
In the field of language, the university offers a certificate program that qualifies teachers for integration courses. The course combines academic principles with practical training and prepares students to teach German in the context of multilingualism.
Brief description
The certificate program "German in the Context of Multilingualism: University Certificate of the TUD for the Qualification of Teachers for Integration Courses" provides a scientifically sound and at the same time practice-oriented qualification for teaching German to young and adult immigrant learners who acquire German as a second, third, etc. language and have a wide variety of first languages as well as different learning experiences and prerequisites. language and have a wide variety of first languages as well as different learning experiences and prerequisites.
The programme qualifies participants to lead integration courses and is recognized by the BAMF .
Target group
The program is aimed at students and graduates of a (specialist) university degree. Note: Graduates of the extension subject German as a second language already meet the BAMF admission requirements for leading integration courses.

Fees: The further education costs amount to EUR 4,460.00. The program is free of charge for TU Dresden students.
Procedure
The courses (including lectures, seminars, exercises) in the certificate program take place together with undergraduate students, as do the examinations. Contents, examination forms, credit points and further information on the modules and examinations can be found in the regulations of the certificate program (link).
The certificate program is designed for six semesters. It is possible to complete the program in a shorter period of time

In the area of international affairs, a certificate program opens up a wide range of opportunities to develop intercultural, global and civil society skills. The continuing education program combines internationally oriented learning formats with practical engagement and thus strengthens the ability to act responsibly in global contexts.

The certificate program promotes and recognizes intercultural and global knowledge, experience and skills as well as local-global commitment.

Procedure
To obtain the certificate, three of four modules in the areas of Knowledge (mandatory), Mobility, Practice@Home and Civic Engagement must be completed. Each semester, the TUD Global Citizenship Lab - the mandatory introductory event of the GCC - is offered with ECTS. The program is in English and German.
