• First university degree qualifying for a profession in one of the fields of electrical engineering, information systems engineering, computer science, physics or in equivalent fields,
• Proficiency in English at B 2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Language,
• Evidence of specialist knowledge in specific areas in accordance with § 5 of the Aptitude Assessment Regulations

Notes on the application process
If, at the time of application, proof of the first degree qualifying the applicant for a profession is not yet available, the application will be considered under the precondition that 80% of the credit points attainable for the degree have already been achieved based on completed module examinations or the final thesis and the colloquium (if applicable). A certification from the awarding institute of higher education (examination office) serves as proof of the above-mentioned academic achievements. General information about the degree program
The ongoing miniaturisation in the microelectronics industry leads to systems that are now being referred to as nanoelectronic systems. Such systems are advantageous for a variety of applications, but their design and implementation is becoming increasingly complex. This programme focuses on three key1 areas: technologies for nanoelectronic systems, design of nanoelectronic systems and applications of nanoelectronic systems.
Fundamentals of estimation and detection, principles of dependable systems, semiconductor technology, hardware/software codesign, radio frequency integrated circuits. Students also have to choose courses from a variety of mandatory electives, among them: materials for nanoelectronics and vacuum technology, memory technology, optoelectronics, molecular electronics, etc.
The practical training (offered in parallel with theoretical concepts) develops skillsets and expertise that can be used during internships, project work, and the master’s thesis, which can be written at companies or research institutes.
