General information about the degree program
The objective of the Master’s program is to intensify focus on industrial property rights and copyright law – an area which has long been neglected in university curricula – in order to pave the way for a degree in these areas of law which is in particularly high demand in the professional world as a response to the ever increasing market globalization.
The degree program prepares students for a career in these areas at commercial enterprises, official authorities and law firms in Germany and abroad. Should students wish to find work in Germany, they also have the option to take a module in German to learn the specifics of intellectual property law in Germany. Students also have the opportunity to obtain the theoretical knowledge required of a lawyer specializing in industrial property rights.
In view of this, the degree program also provides knowledge in the field of industrial property rights and copyright in a German, European and international context. Through the opportunity to study abroad, students receive insight into foreign legal systems and they have a chance to learn technical terms in a foreign language – an absolute necessity for anyone wishing to pursue a career in an international setting.
