11th German Diversity Day: We are nailing our colors to the mast!
TU Dresden takes the 11th German Diversity Day on May 23, 2023 with the slogan “We are nailing our colors to the mast!” as an opportunity to draw attention to its commitment to diversity. At TU Dresden, diversity is an expression of the variety of perspectives as they result from different professional expertise, gender identity, age group, social background, family responsibilities, or from a live with a disability or chronic illness, and thereby enrich and shape research, education, and our campus life. We embody a university culture that is based on appreciation, democratic values, transparency, creative innovativeness, participation, and ecological sustainability.
The Unit Diversity Management and TU Dresden's Complaints Office are inviting participants and applicants to take part in the following events and funding opportunities in the coming weeks:
- Workshop “Strengthening the role of fathers” on June 7 (Registration by May 26)
- Science Slam during the Dresden Science Night on June 30
- Interdisciplinary event series “Queer parenting” until June 29
- Call for nominations for the diversity-sensitive teaching award until May 26
- Equality and Diversity Incentive Fund (call for applications coming soon)
- Special Inclusion Fund (call for applications coming soon)
In 2019, TU Dresden signed the Diversity Charter and became part of a network of currently 4,900 signatories. The members of the Diversity Charter are obliged to promote the recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in society and to advocate for appreciative and prejudice-free interactions in their institutions.
