Future Forum for young STEM talents: TUD to become meeting place for nationwide STEM Excellence funding in March
Together with the nationwide school network MINT-EC e. V., TUD Dresden University of Technology is hosting the MINT-EC Future Forum on March 16 and 17, 2026, welcoming up to 250 top-performing school students and accompanying teachers from all over Germany to the campus. The event will give selected STEM talents unique insights into mathematics, computer science, natural sciences, and technology (STEM) and will turn TU Dresden into a central meeting place for nationwide STEM Excellence funding for two days.
Whether particle physics, space travel, or medical technology—the MINT-EC Future Forum offers students from the 10th grade onwards the opportunity to get to know the excellent research landscape of the natural sciences and engineering at TUD.
The diverse and practical lectures and workshop program is dedicated to current issues in science, technology, and society. In interactive formats, participants gain insights into trendsetting topics such as artificial intelligence and mathematical modeling, quantum physics and communication, aerospace technology, and interdisciplinary applications from biology, medicine, and materials science. Illustrative demonstrations, experiments, and hands-on activities bring current research to life while promoting skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, and networked working.
In addition to imparting knowledge, the Future Forum also offers networking and exchange formats such as “Meet-a-Student,” which provide an opportunity to learn about individual career prospects and make valuable contacts. At an education market, numerous exhibitors from science and industry will also provide information about a wide range of study and career prospects in STEM subjects. In addition, there will be an accompanying program for teachers, organized by the School Liaison Office and TUD's Advanced Teacher Training team. It offers teaching staff tailor-made exchange format and concise training options.
As an interactive platform, the Future Forum provides unique insights into pioneering research projects at TUD and aims to inspire young talent to pursue STEM degree programs. With the successful acquisition of the Future Forum, TUD Dresden University of Technology is committed to promoting high-achieving students in STEM subjects, thereby sending a strong signal for the future of STEM education in Germany.
