2020 Teaching Award
The 2019/2020 academic year, and the summer semester in particular, presented us with enormous challenges in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak. Therefore, this year’s Teaching Award recognized successful teaching under these extraordinary circumstances. The Friends and Supporters of TU Dresden thus raised the amount of the prize money to be awarded in order to acknowledge projects from each School at TU Dresden as well as the Central Units involved in teaching.
The awards exclusively honored outstanding examples of best practice in virtual teaching. We were looking for creative solutions that go above and beyond simple video conferencing teaching settings, integrating interactive elements and enriching teaching and learning sustainably in the long term.
These awards are intended to incentivize improvement in teaching and provide inspiration for new ideas and strategies at TU Dresden. The prize money is earmarked for specific efforts in further developing virtual teaching.
