- Title of thesis:
Influence of emotional competencies on silence in the workplace: Further development of the online training "Emotional competencies" - Which central question(s) does your thesis answer?
1. what is the relationship between courses 1 to 5 of the online training course "Emotional Competencies" and the reduction of resignative and anxiety-based silence?
The results show that the courses on emotion regulation and constructive communication (courses 4 and 5) in particular contribute effectively to reducing resigned silence. In contrast, courses 1 to 5 were unable to reduce anxiety-based silence. For this reason, additional content was developed in courses 4 and 5 to address the emotions of fear and resignation and the associated silence in a targeted manner.
2. how are the newly developed course components of the online training course "Emotional competencies" rated in terms of satisfaction, practical relevance, visual design and choice of methods?
The new course components were rated by four participants as satisfactory and practically relevant. The layout and the selection of methods were also perceived as coherent. The feedback from the participants was incorporated into the revision so that the course components could be further improved. - What are your plans after graduation?
As a reward for myself, I would like to hike the Malerweg after I graduate - a multi-day hike with lots of physical challenges and scenic impressions. I would definitely like to stay in Dresden and start a job in personnel development. - What area do you want to work in after graduation?
After my studies, I would like to work in the field of personnel development - in particular with the aim of anchoring emotional skills more firmly in in-company training. I am convinced that a conscious and reflective approach to emotions contributes significantly to a healthy and appreciative working environment. - Why did you decide to study at TU Dresden?
I chose TU Dresden because the special HPSTS degree program here also gives students from outside the field the opportunity to complete a Master's degree in psychology. This enabled me to fulfill my absolute dream of studying psychology. Before that, I completed my Bachelor's degree in Sociology with Psychology as a minor subject. - What do you particularly like about Dresden, what will you miss?
I particularly love Dresden's Neustadt district - the cultural offerings, the cafés and the heath captivated me right from the start. The proximity to Saxon Switzerland is also an absolute gift - I love hiking here. - What memories do you take with you from your studies?
My Research & Intervention project on the topic of abuse of power in science, which I carried out under the supervision of Mr. Leising, left a lasting impression. The intensive examination of this sensitive topic heightened my awareness of ethical responsibility in research.
I also have fond memories of the interdisciplinary events, such as the design lecture. Here I had the opportunity to think outside the psychological box and gain new perspectives on recycling, product development and design methods.
