MINT scholarship holders introduced: Clementina Langa
Clementina Langa is 18 years old and studies physics at the TUD
- That's why I decided to study at TU Dresden:
Dresden has been my hometown for 18 years and therefore has a very special place in my heart. In addition, TU Dresden is a renowned university of University of Excellence, it is one of the best in Germany for studying in the natural sciences - That excites me:
What excites me most about physics is the fact that everything is based on it and that it has been with us since the beginning of time and will always be with us. Its versatility, both in terms of sub-areas and approaches, is the reason why I retain a thirst for knowledge and enjoy learning new things. - STEM means to me:
The opportunity to strive for a better, versatile and constantly evolving future for everyone. The natural sciences should benefit everyone and contribute to a modern society. - I was totally surprised in my first semester:
The great amount of self and independence that is required of you. It can be an advantage, but it can also be overwhelming. - I would like to be able to answer this question(s) after my studies:
Did I take full advantage of my time at university and find a good balance between studying and my free time? - If you have a message for prospective and/or first-year students, what is it?
Have the courage and don't be afraid to fail! Because studying is like
physics: measurement uncertainties do not necessarily mean that you have measured incorrectly they could also turn out to be new physics later on.
