As part of an initial kick-off event, the Vice-Rector Acaedemic Affairs , Professor Michael Kobel, and Professor Manfrad Curbach, representing GFF e. V., presented the certificates to this year's STEM scholarship holders. The scholarships are being awarded for the fifth time this year and are aimed exclusively at first-year students starting a degree in one of the STEM subjects at TU Dresden. As an extension of the previous MINT-EC scholarship, it was also possible - as in the previous year - for high school graduates from STEM-friendly schools and schools cooperating with TU Dresden to apply. This expansion and the greater involvement of teachers has once again led to an increase in applications. Thanks to the renewed support of the Mollier-Haus Foundation, a total of 11 scholarships could be awarded this year.

In addition to an initial personal meeting, the scholarship holders also had the opportunity to get to know the Cube - the world's first house made of carbon concrete. Professor Manfred Curbach gave a brief overview of the special building material and its practical application in research.

This year's scholarship holders will begin their studies in the subjects of psychology, electrical engineering and information technology, computer science, mechanical engineering, physics, hydrosciences, mathematics and renewable energy systems.
