Wilma Charlott Theilig - Participation in the SARMAC XV Conference
In June 2025, I was able to attend the 15th Biennial Meeting of the Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC XV) at the Killashee Hotel in County Kildare, Ireland, thanks to the support of the Society of Friends and Sponsors of TU Dresden. As a Master's student of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, it was a valuable opportunity for me to learn about current international research on memory and cognition. Together with Prof. Katharina Förster, I took part in a scientific conference for the first time and presented my poster entitled
"Deconstructing the Developmental Interplay of Empathy and Theory of Mind in Childhood: A Correlative Hierarchical Meta-Analytic Approach". Deconstructing the Developmental Interplay of Empathy and Theory of Mind in Childhood: A Correlative Hierarchical Meta-Analytic Approach".
I was particularly impressed by Richard J. McNally's presentation on "Resolving Controversies Regarding Trauma and Memory". The exchange with colleagues from New Zealand, especially from the University of Waikato, was also very enriching for me. The combination of professional input, discussions at eye level and the international perspective gave me a lot of new ideas for my future work. Participating in the conference was an important step in my scientific development, which I would not have been able to take without the financial support. I am very grateful for this.
