Enhanced autonomy, synergy, interdisciplinarity, and strategic and operative scope - TUD’s 17 Faculties are organized within 5 Schools: the School of Science, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the School of Engineering Sciences, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the School of Medicine.

For over 10 years now, TUD Dresden University of Technology has been one of eleven German Universities of Excellence. With the University Strategy “TUD 2028 – Synergy and Beyond” and the three Clusters of Excellence, one of which is in cooperation with the University of Würzburg, TUD has already defended this title for a second time. This distinction confirms the potential of one of Germany’s largest universities of technology. But it is also an incentive and a guiding principle to promote even greater excellence in the future, extending even beyond research.

The University Executive Board is responsible for all university activities. It is composed of the Rector, the Chancellor, and three Vice-Rectors. It is in charge of the continued development of our university and all central affairs. Furthermore, it prepares the decisions of the Senate and the University Council. he Chief Communication Officer is the permanent representative of the University Executive Board for communication within the University Executive Board.
