Commissioner against Antisemitism
The Commissioner against Antisemitism at TU Dresden is actively committed to preventing and combating antisemitism. The focus here is on developing and coordinating effective measures to raise awareness and educate people. As a central point of contact, the officer is available for advice, exchange and joint projects.
In close cooperation with the Jewish members in Academia, Jewish Community of Dresden, the City of Dresden and local initiatives, educational institutions and civil society organizations, a strong network against antisemitism is being created.
Prof. Dr. Häusl has been Chair of Biblical Theology (Catholic) at TU Dresden since 2006 and is a proven expert in Old Testament exegesis, questions of identity and foreignness in prophetic texts and the analysis of social and religious discourses. Her research focuses on the Old Testament, in particular the post-exilic period or the so-called Second Temple Period, the Book of Ezra/Nehemiah and the role of the Torah as authoritative scripture. In teaching, she regularly offers a lecture on the beginnings of Christian anti-Judaism.
Among other things, Prof. Dr. Häusl is a member of the Advisory Board for TACHELES 2026 "Year of Jewish Culture in Saxony" and designed an accompanying course for student teachers entitled: "Jewish Everyday Life in Germany. Between civil rights, antisemitism and #neveragain", which is due to start in the summer semester of 2026.
