Advice and Service
How do I reconcile my studies or my professional life with my family? Numerous consulting offers for students and employees help you answer this question.
The Act on the Protection of Mothers at Work, in Training and in Studies (MuSchG) was fundamentally reformed. Female students have also been subject to the special legal protection provisions during their entire pregnancy, after childbirth and during the nursing period. The provisions of the Act on the Protection of Mothers at Work, in training and in Studies apply to you as a student for all courses and examinations, or if you complete a compulsory placement as part of your studies.
As a certified family-friendly university, TU Dresden strives to support you as a student in the process of starting a family. This also includes offering pregnant students and students in the nursing period the best possible health protection during this sensitive phase and circumventing disadvantages during their studies. In order to ensure the best possible health protection, it is important to inform the responsible Academic Affairs Office/Examination Office as early as possible of the pregnancy/nursing period. Your participation in courses and examinations from 8pm to 10pm, on Sundays and bank holidays and during the maternity protection period may, however, be possible if you expressly request it. To register your pregnancy/nursing period and to declare your willingness, please submit the completed form “Notification of Pregnancy/Nursing Period of a Student including Declaration of Participation in Courses and Examinations”
