Service Desk

The Service Desk of the ZIH is the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all employees, students and guests of TU Dresden regarding all services offered by the ZIH.
The staff at the service desk assist you with all of your questions regarding the services on offer. Requests which cannot be answered immediately will be noted by the staff and are handed over to the respective experts. You will then recieve a ticket number (just as you would for questions asked via email) from the Ticketsystem OTRS. With this ticket number you can learn more details about the current processing status of your question.
News
For operational reasons, the Service Desk will close at 6 p.m. in the week from 02.10.2023 until probably 06.10.2023, the availability by telephone will be limited. You are welcome to send us your concerns by e-mail to servicedesk@tu-dresden.de, but we ask for your patience due to the current quantity of requests.
For operational reasons, the e-learning support and the media technology lending desk will not be staffed on 02.10.2023.

Services from the Service Desk
The following services are provided at the service desk concerning the IT services of the ZIH:
- personal consultation for questions regarding the services of the ZIH
- help for the activation of your ZIH login in the Self Service Portal
- Resetting your password
- Help with the application and setup of PKI-Zertifikaten
- setup of WiFi/VPN
- editing plotting orders
- Support regarding notebook rental
- help with the planning or arrangement of IT resources, consolidation of servers, relocation to other buildings, as well as application of large devices, and other consultation services
- consultation regarding the right choice and configuration of PC work stations, virtualization, networking and server consolidation
- help with the application of IT equipment
Jobs
We are a team of 9 permanent employees who take care of all IT-related issues of all members of the TU Dresden. We help when you have forgotten your password, you need a digital certificate or eduroam goes on strike on your end devices. We are supported by 10 students from different disciplines. Unfortunately, some of our helpers are facing changes that will force them to leave us. For this reason we are looking for support again.

In the period from 02.10.2023 to 06.10.2023, the Service Desk will only be available to a limited extent and will close as early as 18.00 hrs. No device support can be provided.
Media technology rental service at HSZ
The media technology lending desk is located on Bergstraße, on the first floor of the Hörsaalzentrum, in room E11.
