Services around the PC Work Stations

PC work stations and services provided by the ZIH
The ZIH operates several public PC-Pools (in the Willersbau and Informatik-Gebäude), which can be used outside of lecture times by all users with ZIH-Logins. In addition, a limited number of laptops can be borrowed by employees for a maximum of 3 weeks from the Equipment rental at the Service Desk.
Scope of Services Included
- The use of available PC pool work stations
- Loaning out of laptops
- Repair service (for staff WITHOUT local administrator only), NOT for students
Authorized users:
- PC-Pools: all ZIH users
- Laptop-Loan and repair service: Employees of the TU Dresden
Application:
- PC-Pools: per reservation request in the Self Service Portal
- Laptop-loan: per application form
- Repair service: via e-mail including inventory number
- Use of the PC-Pools requires a ZIH Login.
- Private usage of loan-laptops is not permitted.
- The repair service can only be used for the repair of TU Dresden property.
Costs
- Free services for members of the TU Dresden
- Concerning the repair services the service is free, but you must bear costs incurring over and above this (e.g. for replacement parts).
Provisioning Time
- The PC-Pool login is included in the standard login.
- Subject to availability, laptops are usually made available within one work day.
- The repair service generally responds within 1-2 work days.

Service Desk Mo-Fr: 8 am - 7 pm
Operating Hours/ Operating Status
- PC-Pools: during opening hours
- Laptop-loan: during the opening hours of the Service Desk
- Repair service responds upon request
