The TUTORING Masterclass

The Masterclass offers interested specialist tutors the opportunity to

• receive intensive didactic and methodological training within one semester
• developskills in the management of exercises and tutorials
• receive feedback on your own work within the framework of a learning-friendly learning group
• makeimportant contacts for your own teaching activities as a student
• receive 5 ECTS for your achievements

Procedure and modules

Interested students register for the OPAL module "Masterclass". Active participation then takes place over the course of a semester:

• Basic qualification
  • in presence - for en rollment or
  • in the self-study course - for enrollment
• Participation in 3 (online) in-depth workshops
  • Enrollment via OPAL
• Observation of your own course/excursion/exercise/tutorial
  • Observation by a peer tutor
  • or by TUTORING staff
  • supported by a ready-made observation / feedback form
  • Enrollment via OPAL

• Development of a contribution as a "portfolio module" as part of peer meetings with other tutors

  • Creation of your own (online) course module that can be used for subsequent "generations" of tutors as part of peer meetings - on the dates and enrollment in OPAL

  • e.g. video contribution on a selected topic
  • e.g. handout / flashcards / handout / procedure for leading excursions
  • e.g. template for mailings, what students should pay attention to during excursions or templates for evaluations etc.
  • ...you can get creative here
• Participation in the examination interview
  • this will be arranged individually

All freely available modules are also suitable for the Masterclass. The experience gained from the various modules then results in the "Masterclass" in combination with a fixed group over the semester.
