TUD E-Learning Jewel" competition
Table of contents
Aims of the competition
We are looking for interesting didactic designs, exciting learning content, innovative examination scenarios or special communication concepts - whether hybrid or completely digital. TU Dresden would like to make courses with such elements visible and honor the commitment of those involved.
This will result every year in a gallery of all the TU Dresden's e-learning gems, which can serve as inspiration and a model for other courses. We are therefore looking for particularly successful e-learning content or concepts.
The prizes will be awarded in the following three categories:
- Small courses
- Average courses
- Large courses
In each category, the piece of jewelry with the most votes will win prize money of €2,000 (this can be spent on SHK/WHK costs and material costs). Please also review our competition announcement.
You can gain insights into the commitment of our winners in the interview series Teaching portraits - here, lecturers talk about their approaches, experiences and insights from digital teaching.
Competition Schedule for 2026
Submission of E-Learning Entries
Courses may be submitted by instructors themselves or nominated anonymously by TUD students or staff. “E-Learning Gems” can include any digital teaching/learning content as well as e-learning instructional concepts that were developed and implemented at TU Dresden during the winter semester 2025/26 or the summer semester 2026. Courses offered by the Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine are excluded.
Courses that have already received awards in previous years may be submitted but cannot be awarded again.
Submissions can be made from October 19 through November 15, 2026. Starting at that time, you will find the relevant information on this page.
Gallery Creation and Voting
After the submission period ends, the e-learning gems will be published in a gallery for viewing.
From December 7, 2026, through January 10, 2027, all students and staff at TU Dresden can browse the gallery and vote for their favorite e-learning gems (excluding associates of the Carl Gustav Carus Faculty of Medicine). Participants may cast 3 anonymous votes.
Previous galleries
You are welcome to be inspired by the galleries from previous years at any time.
