Scientific evaluation of virtual teaching at TU Dresden during the corona pandemic since the summer semester 2020
The coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 has forced TU Dresden to move almost its entire teaching operations to the virtual space within one month. The transition of teaching formats has significant implications for both lecturers and students. Within this context, possibilities and limitations of digital tools for virtual teaching are becoming especially relevant. Quite often it is challenging to offer teaching in the digital space in a quality that matches own aspirations. This peculiar situation is monitored extensively by the Centre of Quality Analysis. Therefore, lecturers and students are surveyed multiple times. To support this ongoing process, a total of three surveys was planned for the summer semester 2020: The first one after two weeks of lectures, the second one at about the 10th week of lectures, and the third one shortly after the beginning of the examination period.
As a follow-up to the 2020/21 winter semester, a student and faculty survey will also be conducted in May 2021 on the topic of "Digital examinations in the winter semester 2020/21". The results of these surveys will be made available in a timely manner once they have been completed.
