Competence Network Quality Assurance in Teacher Training
From 2014 to 2017, the Saxon universities took the first steps together to develop and implement quality management systems for teacher training resulting in the specific task to develop an adequate concept for quality assurance in teacher training, which was defined in 2013 as an independent task in the agreements between the universities and the SMWK until 2016. In teacher training, there are very special challenges for quality assurance systems due to the large number of courses and the participants involved.
The aim of the QSL project was to set up and provide infrastructural support for a competence network made up of representatives of the participating universities, which would enable a Saxony-wide quality audit for teacher training with the additional involvement of other participants (SMK, SMWK, SBI, SBA, etc.). The joint project QSL of the three teacher training universities in Saxony was coordinated by the Center for Quality Analysis (ZQA) at the TU Dresden. The aim was within the two-and-a-half-year project period from October 2014 to March 2017 to develop a concept for quality assurance in teacher training (QSL) trough cross-university coordination, which can then be implemented by the universities involved.
