What is the TU Dresden?
The TUD Dresden University of Technology is a large scientific institution. It is also known by the abbreviations TU Dresden or TUD. TU Dresden is a University of Excellence. There are only a few universities of excellence in Germany. These universities receive special funding, more money and are better known. The title "excellent" is a great distinction for the university's previous research and future projects. As a result, bright students and professors particularly enjoy coming to TU Dresden.

TU Dresden has 5 subject areas:
- School of Sciences,
- School of Humanities and Social Sciences(GSW in accessible language),
- School of Engineering sciences,
- School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and
- School of Medicine.
The central campus of TU Dresden is located in Dresden's Südvorstadt district. The university also includes buildings located elsewhere:
- in other districts of Dresden,
- in Tharandt and
- in Zittau.

From there you can also access this page in plain language and the video in sign language. Under "EN" you can select English or other languages for the website. In the "Search" you can search for words on the website. A list of search results will then appear. In the main navigation you will find all the content of our website. Here you will also find an overview of all organizational units of TU Dresden.
