TUD students and employees of the Faculty of Architecture take a stand against racism 

Due to the current tendencies of ethnic discrimination in Saxony, a group of architecture students at TU Dresden asked their faculty to explicitly distance themselves from supporters, defenders and members of extremist, fascist, racist, sexist and homophobic ideologies or associations. Their wish was to set a clear example against discrimination and to stand up for equal rights as well as the protection and integration of minority groups. 

The students conducted several workshops that were supported by the Chair of Foundations in Art and Architecture. They thought about how the faculty community could promote respectful interaction and take a stand for cosmopolitanism. 

The students would like to draw attention to the topic and stimulate discourse by displaying a large banner on the façade of the Zellescher Weg office building as part of a temporary intervention in the redesign of the faculty building.

The project, initiated by the Faculty Student Body, is supported by the Chair of Foundations in Art and Architecture, the Faculty of Architecture, the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Vice-Rector University Culture, and Directorate 4 of TUD.

All those interested are cordially invited to the ceremonial unveiling of the banner on

There will be brief speeches by Prof. Roswitha Böhm (Vice-Rector University Culture), Prof. Catrin Schmidt (Vice-Dean Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture), Prof. Henning Haupt (Foundations in Art and Architecture, Project Support) and the Student Council of the Faculty of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

The organizers are hoping for a large turnout in order to make a joint statement.
