 Important information for first semester students

Please note that the studies at our faculty always start before the beginning of the TU Dresden lecture period with an introduction week,in the winter semester 2022/23 starting from 4th of October 2022 for students of Architecture and Bachelor and Master Landscape Architecture.

The introductory week includes offers to get to know the university, the faculty, the student council and your mentors. It covers all days of the week from 04-07.10.2022 (Architecture and Landscape Architecture).The introductory week is scheduled in attendance. We strongly recommend that all students be vaccinated at the start of the program.

Welcome event & project assignment

Dear first-year students of architecture,
we are very pleased that you have decided to study architecture and welcome you warmly to the Technische Universität Dresden and our faculty.
You will receive all the necessary information about your studies during the introductory week, called ESE, which takes place all day from 04 - 07.10.2022. At the beginning of this week we would like to invite you to the welcome ceremony:

General information about the beginning of the study

Ceremonial enrollment

The ceremonial matriculation for first-year students in the winter semester 2022/2023 is scheduled for October 6, at 4 pm. The event is offered in hybrid.

Material

You will receive the most important material for your studies from the Student Council (see below). All materials needed for the start of studies can be bought on Monday after the campus tour, please bring cash 45€.

Studios architecture diploma, landscape architecture bachelor

On 05.10.22 transponders for the workrooms there will be issued in the Bamberger Straße 1, 2nd floor at 8:00 am. Please bring 20 Euro in cash as a deposit.
Parallel to this, a fire safety briefing will also take place.

Student Council - Freshman Page

Student Council 

The student council is an elected student representation of all architecture and landscape architecture students at the TU Dresden. Up to 20 members are elected annually and support and advise prospective students as well as students before and during their studies.
At the start of studies, the FSR organizes the material sale, the campus tour and much more.

Examination Office

The examination office regulates all examination matters but also plays a major role in Bafög or illness.

Technical

An introduction with question/answer session will take place online via Zoom on 11.10.22 at 19:00. The link will be emailed and can be found here (will be updated).

  • OPAL
    The OPAL platform is an interactive e-learning environment in which course materials can be shared.

  • SELMA
    On the platform SELMA study documents can be accessed, also you can register and deregister for modules, courses and exams there.

    Here you will find detailed instructions on SELMA and the organization of studies.


    As of 06.10.2022, registration for modules and courses of the orientation year is possible under the heading Studies - Registration - Modules/Courses. Instructions will be provided in the welcome event.

Construction Site Internship

It is recommended that the construction site internship be completed prior to the start of the studies. Under the link, you will find the contact persons for advice, the internship regulations, the list of recognizable activities, information on social security and accident insurance, as well as forms.

Language Training

Languages can be chosen in the elective courses General Qualification "AQUA". Here you can find a short digital presentation of the language education in video format.
