Successful trade fair appearance of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the KarriereStart in Dresden

Checking out a building virtually - the VR goggles were particularly popular with the youngest visitors.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering successfully presented itself at the KarriereStart fair in Dresden from January 24 to 26. The stand was part of TU Dresden's presence at the fair and attracted numerous interested visitors. With more than 40,000 visitors and a total of 568 exhibitors, the careers fair is the largest of its kind in Saxony.
One of the highlights at the stand was the presentation of a software application for assessing buildings, which could be experienced with VR glasses. Visitors were able to virtually enter the dam of the flood retention basin in Lauenstein and check the condition of the structure. The development of such innovative methods is part of the civil engineers' research work in order to be able to seamlessly monitor existing structures even at an advanced age.

Studienfachberater der Fakultät, Dr. Torsten Heyer erklärt die VR-Brille
The large number of visitors to the stand confirmed the attractiveness of TU Dresden as an educational and research institution. The faculty would like to thank all those who took part and looks forward to welcoming many interested people, perhaps as future students, in the coming years.

Was ist das besondere am Beruf eines Bauingenieurs? Wie läuft das Studium ab? Das Team am Stand war für alle Fragen offen.
